This may come as a shock to their students, but teachers like to have fun, too.

At the close of the recent assembly at the Annual BRSU Staff Meeting, some 200 teachers and staff members gathered in the middle of the gymnasium for a classic schoolyard game of Rock, Paper, Scissors!

The contest is a process of single elimination. You lose, you drop out.  You win, you keep going. And so on and so on. The games move lightning fast. Within minutes the final two contestants square off while the crowd cheers.

The tradition started in 2022 with a customized trophy created and built by Mark Weikert, physical education teacher at the Flood Brook School. The 2025 final round competitors came down to Currier Memorial Principal Carolyn Parillo and Multi-Lingual Language Teacher Alix Fitzpatrick.

And, the 2025 trophy went home to Currier.
