Welcome!

December 8th, 2007
I am honored to hold the position of Assistant Principal at Manchester Elementary Middle School. This is my first year in this position, and although the learning curve is steep, I can’t think of a better way to spend my days!

I graduated from Castleton State College with a Bachelor of Social Work. My first career job was at Perkins School for the Blind in Boston, MA. After getting my fill of city life, I returned to Vermont and worked as a Parks and Recreation Director in Manchester and Hartland, Vermont. While I was pursuing my Masters in Elementary Education, I worked at Long Trail School as a Director of Student Life and Athletics, After School and Summer Program Director. When I completed my degree I began my teaching career at Manchester Elementary Middle School in the third grade where I taught for four years.

Our mission as a professional learning community is to engage students in academic work that results in high levels of achievement, responsibility and citizenship. We are confident that, with our support, students will master challenging curricula, and we expect them to do so. We are prepared to work collaboratively to pursue a clear-shared purpose for all student learning and personal growth. As a professional learning community, we take collective responsibility for achieving these goals.

The mission guides my work. Every day brings new challenges, inspiring new learning. I embrace the challenges while honoring celebrations. MEMS is a supportive community of learners, where personal and professional growth are cultivated.
